Dear Health Advocates,
As we get closer to President Biden’s announcement about what will be included in the American Families Plan, and the NYT reporting today that health coverage is NOT currently in the package, the need is urgent to push for health and health care as a top priority for inclusion.
We invite you to sign-on to this letter urging the Biden Administration and Congressional leadership to go big on health care, with an emphasis on key principles that are a must in any future infrastructure and recovery legislation.
Please sign-on by TOMORROW, April 23rd, at 3pm ET. You can find the full letter here.

We urge the Biden Administration and Congress to ensure the following core values are adhered to:
- Placing health care is at the center of our country’s infrastructure and must be built back better;
- Prioritizing inclusive policies that guarantee access to, and facilitate easy enrollment in, affordable health coverage regardless of age, income, immigration status, where someone lives;
- Taking action to address the pre-existing health and economic inequities that led to the pandemic’s disproportionate impact on communities of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, individuals with disabilities, older adults, and every intersection thereof; and
- Ending industry abuses and finally lowering the price of prescription drugs by allowing Medicare to negotiate directly with pharmaceutical manufacturers.
The groups co-leading this letter include:
- American Federation of Teachers
- Community Catalyst
- Families USA
- National Partnership for Women & Families
- Protect Our Care
If you have any questions. please reach out to Lisa Hunter ([email protected]), Eva Marie Stahl ([email protected]) with Community Catalyst, or Jessi Leigh Swenson ([email protected]), National Partnership for Women & Families.
