Just last week, Congress officially passed my amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that would stop President Trump from attacking Iran without Congressional approval — and thanks to our movement, 27 Republicans signed on.
The people of America do not want war. Folks across the country want our government to invest in bridges, not bombs — schools, not missiles. But for decades, we’ve dedicated trillions of dollars towards foreign wars with no end in sight.
Years ago, Congress abdicated our responsibility, and gave far too much power to the executive to send our troops to go off and die. Since then, we’ve been involved in near constant conflict and bloodshed.
Just imagine what we could’ve done if we had been spending that time investing in our future, in bold action on climate change, in higher education, and so much more. But it’s not too late.
Together, we can stop these endless wars, end our complicity in the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, and stand up for a foreign policy with peace at it’s core.
In solidarity,
Ro Khanna
