The future is now, team.
Earth Day draws attention to our global climate and measures we can take to keep our air, water, and everything in between clean -- but why not take it one step further?
As climate change becomes increasingly important for our ways of life, we must prepare our workforce for a clean energy economy -- because without it, we will continue to harm the environment around us, risking a healthy and happy future for our children, their children, and God willing, generations more to come.
In my last term, I introduced the Green Jobs and Opportunity Act -- a bill that would call on the Department of Labor to ensure we know exactly what jobs we need to create and fill in the growing clean energy technology sector. And from there, we would invest meaningful dollars into training individuals across educational levels for these very jobs. We must invest in a future of green jobs in order to truly combat the climate change crisis with the urgency it warrants.
Not only do we need to invest in our economy as we transition to clean energy solutions, but we need to do it for all life around us as well. We can all have a hand in creating a future for all of us to thrive -- but it's on us to demand our government take climate change seriously.
Add your name alongside mine calling on Congress to take swift action regarding climate change -- because the future is now, and the future depends on it.
There are no guidelines set in our country for clean energy technology jobs, which means a lot of businesses who hope to get into this growing sector do not have
any instructions on how to do so. That's why we have to put pressure on legislators across the country to take this seriously, and dedicate resources towards transitioning to a clean energy economy.
We cannot achieve green infrastructure and technology in our country without giving the workforce somewhere to start -- and it's time that Congress do just that.
It's on us to stand up for the future together, team. There is no second Earth to fall back on. Demand Congress put the work in toward addressing climate change before it's too late.
Thank you,
Antonio
