Friend,

Protections for endangered species. Cleaner air and water. Conservation of wild places.

Since the 1970s, the environmental movement has won unquestionable victories for our planet. But that was only after millions of people took part in the first Earth Day -- raising their voices and calling for a world with cleaner air, cleaner water and intact wild places.[1]

More than five decades after the first Earth Day, we'll keep advocating for the change our planet needs, such as the elimination of toxic pesticides that kill bees. But we know that we can't make real progress without supporters like you.

You can help keep our campaigns for the environment going strong. Donate to Environment Colorado's Earth Day Drive by midnight tonight and your gift will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $25,000 nationwide.

In just the past year, your support has helped us:

* Make the world safer for bees. For years, our national network has raised the alarm on a class of bee-killing pesticides called neonicotinoids -- and some decision-makers are starting to get the message. In 2020, Baltimore and Philadelphia both passed new restrictions that will reduce the amount of bee-killing herbicides the cities use. And at the beginning of 2021, Congress passed a law directing the U.S. military to manage its 11 million acres of federal land in a pollinator-friendly way, by minimizing pesticide use and planting native species. Your support will help us win more victories for nature's best pollinators. Donate today >>>

* Speak up for one of the world's most important forests. Canada's boreal forest is simply irreplaceable: The continent-spanning biome absorbs global warming pollution and shelters wolves, forest caribou and half of North America's birds, among countless other species.[2] But we're losing it at a rate of more than a football field per minute -- in part, to source fiber for single-use tissue products like softer toilet paper.[3] We've sent tens of thousands of messages to major companies urging them to commit to more sustainable practices. Donate today >>>

* Move our communities toward a plastic-free future. In the past year, thanks to the work of our national network, groundbreaking bans on some of the worst single-use plastic products were won or went into effect in Maryland, Washington, Virginia and New Jersey. And in November, we launched a new campaign to get grocer Whole Foods to take single-use plastic packaging off its shelves. Donate today >>>

Without your support, we couldn't do the work we do. But by backing our campaigns with a donation this Earth Day, you'll allow us to plan and run another year of targeted, effective campaigns for the environment.

Make your Earth Day donation before midnight tonight, and generous donors will match your gift up to $25,000 nationwide.
