In an effort to encourage all Americans to learn more about the COVID-19 vaccines, the Ad Council and COVID Collaborative premiered a new public service ad during Sunday’s broadcast of the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards. Produced with ACM Lifting Lives, the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music, the PSA features Eric Church, Ashley McBryde, Darius Rucker and Brett Eldredge, emphasizing the integral role vaccines play in returning to live music. We have proudly partnered with Global Citizen for VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World, a one-of-a-kind broadcast and streaming special aiming to inspire vaccine confidence and make COVID-19 vaccinations universally accessible. Airing Saturday, May 8, the event will be hosted by multi-platinum recording artist, actress and producer Selena Gomez and will include performances by Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters and more. Earlier this month, the Ad Council welcomed Elise James-DeCruise as our first chief equity officer. In her role, Elise will oversee our ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and ultimately inform every aspect of the Ad Council’s mission, workplace culture and public-facing communication. Elise brings over 20 years of experience in leading strategies and solutions to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and professional development in the marketing communications industry.
