Happy Earth Day!
Earth Day is one of my favorite holidays! It gives us the chance to celebrate the natural beauty all over our home state of Nevada. We have some of the most precious public resources in the country right here in Nevada, with more than 6.5 million acres of protected wilderness areas.
But here’s the thing: Our planet is in trouble. We desperately need to take real action to combat climate change, and right now, we’re still playing catch up.
When Donald Trump withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement in 2019, we lost critical ground. Thanks to President Joe Biden, we have now rejoined, but we’re just getting started on protecting the planet.
Will you sign on to my petition right now to show your support for BOLD, EFFECTIVE, and SCIENCE-BASED action to combat climate change? We need your support today:
My first job after graduating college was as an environmental consultant handling water management, air quality, and other environmental issues. I saw firsthand the delicacy and the incalculable value of our natural resources, which is one of the many reasons why I’ve been a steadfast ally for Nevada’s natural resources and public lands in Congress.
In Congress, I’ve fought back against using Yucca Mountain as a dumping site for America’s nuclear waste, I’m working to make Nevada's 3rd District a leader in clean energy, and I’m a co-sponsor of the Great American Outdoors Act, which permanently funded the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished so far. But I know we can accomplish so much more.
Add your name right now to show that you’re a champion of climate action, and you’re with me this Earth Day:
Take some time today to get outside,
Susie Lee
