Sign if you agree: Immigrants barred from entry to the U.S. due to Trump’s hateful Muslim and African bans should be allowed into the country now.

Friend,
Yesterday, I had the honor of presiding over the U.S. House floor as we passed the NO BAN Act, which would prevent any future presidents from banning people because of their nationality or their faith.
Unlike executive orders such as President Biden’s Day One executive order to repeal Trump’s Muslim and African bans, laws passed by Congress cannot be overturned by future presidents.
But there’s another injustice that the Biden administration can fix immediately: The families already separated by the bans deserve immediate entry into the U.S.
Despite the executive order to repeal the bans, the State Department recently announced that families who started the expensive and time-consuming visa application processes—whether they were stuck in refugee camps or eagerly awaiting reunification—will have to start the process over entirely.
This means they’d have to wait years to be reunited. And many can’t afford to go through the process again.
Sign the petition: Demand President Biden and Vice President Harris take immediate action to protect immigrant families, by granting entry to all individuals who have faced discrimination due to Trump’s Muslim and African bans.
Without immediate action, it could take years until every family that’s been torn apart and denied entry due to Trump’s Islamophobic and racist bans is given their fair shot. It’s on the Biden-Harris administration to make this right.
Instead of burdening banned people with more red tape, President Biden and Vice President Harris must grant entry to all individuals who have faced discrimination due to the Muslim and African bans.
The Biden-Harris administration has made commitments to progressive immigration reform and racial justice. But now, we urgently need the White House to act on these promises.
We owe it to the families who’ve already been separated by Trump’s Muslim and African bans to act as quickly as possible, so they don’t have to wait for years to be reunited. Fixing this would take one decision by the Biden administration.
This week’s passage of the NO BAN act provided a beautiful moment for Muslims across the globe, and for my son, Adam, who was able to witness his mama presiding over the very issue that made him and so many feel othered for years. We must fix and repair the harms of Trump’s racist immigration policies from all sides, to ensure we actually solve the problem for people already affected and anyone who could be affected in the future.
Add your name: Urge President Biden and Vice President Harris to stop upholding Trump’s racist immigration bans, and allow entry to families who have been formerly denied entry.
Thank you,
Rashida
