Let's get straight to the point: There is a divide in the post-Trump Republican Party, and it's growing by the day. NOW is the time for Democrats to seize that opportunity to build lasting majorities in Congress.
Last week, Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney, a member of Republican House leadership, said she would not support President Trump if he ran in 2024. Trump has also publicly feuded with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, one of the most powerful Republicans in the country.
Meanwhile, Florida Senator Rick Scott and the NRSC recently made up the “Champion of Freedom” Award specifically to give it to Trump. Sen. Scott, Sen. Rand Paul, and other influential Republicans continue to make the trip to Mar-a-Lago to kiss Trump's ring and beg for campaign funds.
With far-right Trump loyalists battling traditional conservatives, Republicans can't provide a unified vision of how they can help Americans prosper. The Republican Party is fractured, and we can use this to expand our majorities in the House and Senate in 2022 if we act now.
While Republicans are divided, Democrats can unite around our popular progressive agenda, improve the lives of the American people, and win more elections as a result. We need your help right now to take advantage of the moment.
