John,
How do I know if I should apply to Abortion Out Loud, or Young Womxn of Color for Reproductive Justice?
What kind of campaigns does the Muslim Youth Leadership Council work on? What about the Student Organizing Team?
If the FDA is responsible for bringing birth control pills over-the-counter, then what kind of work is the #FreeThePill Youth Council going to do?
Maybe you know applications are open to join our youth organizing programs for the 2021-2022 school year here, but you need more information before starting an application. That's normal! We have 130 youth activists in our Youth Activist Network, all grouped into 10 core programs, so we understand you might want some clarification before applying.
RSVP here for our Q&A session TODAY where Advocates for Youth staffers (yes, the same people reviewing applications) will answer any and all questions you may have. Feel free to send this to any young person you think would benefit from our organizing programs.
Our youth organizing programs are how a lot of change-makers got their start in activism, and anyone selected will have the resources of Advocates for Youth behind your local activism all year long! So it's worth joining our event Thursday to get your questions answered before beginning your application.
Hope to see you on Zoom! (Unless your camera is off or you're joining by phone, both of which are totally fine!)
In solidarity,
The Youth Organizing & Mobilization Team
Advocates for Youth
P.S. - if you're not ages 14-24, can you forward this email to someone you think would be a good fit? Or to an organization who works with young people? We need everyone to do their part to help us build this incredible group!
Plus, we find that most of the people we accept were told to apply by a trusted adult, mentor or friend. So send this to someone you think is a rising star today.
