🌍 We're gonna party like it's your Earth Day.

Hey John,
Today is Earth Day! Earth Day was founded in 1970 when 20 million people mobilized to bring awareness to environmental issues and call for protection of the Earth we all share.
This year, at Generation Progress, we’re focusing on ways to prioritize the Earth and climate justice, and one way to do that is by protecting democracy. [[link removed]]
Climate solutions cannot happen without a democracy that works for all of us, rather than big-money corporate interests. That's why legislation like the For The People Act is so important.
H.R.1/S. 1, or the For The People Act, is a transformative bill that includes multiple policy solutions to build a stronger democracy that will more fairly represent all people, including marginalized communities. If this becomes law, it would shift structural power and increase the voice and power of voters, many of whom support climate action.
This bill would:
*
Increase
fair
access
to
the
ballot
box,
making
it
easier,
not
harder
to
vote
*
End
the
dominance
of
big
money
in
politics
*
Ensure
public
officials
work
in
the
interest
of
the
public.
Climate solutions cannot happen without a democracy that works for the people, rather than polluting corporate interests looking out for their own bottom line.
In my latest piece, I’m laying out the reasons why the For The People Act and another bill, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, are critical for addressing the climate crisis while protecting the rights of all Americans, especially frontline communities. [[link removed]]
