** Help Us Keep Going Strong: Donate to FAIR!
------------------------------------------------------------

============================================================

Dear FAIR Friends & Supporters,

Despite the hardships and uncertainty of the past year, FAIR has continued to deliver content online, on air and in print that speaks truth to power and holds establishment media accountable. That is because you, our donors and subscribers, have allowed us to keep paying our staffers, writers, radio show engineer, transcriber, landlord, utilities and more. YOU stepped up when our bank account was showing signs of stress, and YOU are the reason FAIR, which was founded more than three decades ago, is still going strong.

** But we need your help to keep it up! ([link removed])

Your donations have helped us fund stories that illuminate facts and stories corporate media would evidently rather keep in the dark.

Support the Tropes
Alan MacLeod called out popular arguments corporate media outlets make to justify wars and other intervention abroad. In an attempt to appeal to the US left, journalists from outlets including Time and the Washington Post take angles like “Think about the women!” and “He’s hurting his own people!” to bolster support for wars that end up causing harm to the very groups the press tries to frame as beneficiaries of US intervention.

New York State Hands Billions Back to Wealthy Investors—and NYT Doesn’t See a Story
The New York Times could have covered New York Assemb. Phil Steck’s proposed repealing of a tax rebate for wealthy stock investors — but instead it chose to remain silent. Ari Paul covered the issue and interrogated why the Times lacks aggression in covering Wall Street stories.

CounterSpin: Dorothy A. Brown and Amy Hanauer on Tax Unfairness
Dorothy A. Brown is an Asa Griggs Candler professor of law at Emory University School of Law, where she teaches tax policy. She’s author of the new book, The Whiteness of Wealth: How the Tax System Impoverishes Black Americans—and How We Can Fix It. Amy Hanauer is executive director at the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy and Citizens for Tax Justice. Jackson talked with Brown and Hanauer about possible solutions to our blatantly unfair and exploitative tax policy.

FAIR’s priority is YOU, not corporate or political interests. Therefore, we rely on YOU, not corporate sponsors. Every donation, whether $5, $500 — or more — matters. You are the backbone of our organization.

We appreciate your support.

Sincerely,
Olivia, Deborah, Jim, Janine and Julie

P.S. Remember, you can listen to CounterSpin online, or on one of the more that 160 radio stations that carry our show throughout the country. We also publish transcripts of each of our interviews, which helps us reach an even wider audience—including those who are hard of hearing. We believe everyone should have access to the crucial information we share. Visit fair.org/counterspin-radio/ for more information.
