Hi John,

Shawn Lassiter, a nonprofit organizer and former teacher, is running to flip Texas' 6th district in a special election on May 1.

This race is our best chance to flip Texas blue and expand our razor-thin House majority ahead of the 2022 election -- but most Democrats don't even know that it's coming up.

We want to change that, John, especially because this will be a tight race. Just like in Georgia, Texas Republicans have introduced legislation to restrict voting access and make it harder for Black and Brown voters to cast their ballots. Democrats gained 9 points against Trump in this district in 2020, but we need to turn out voters in record numbers to finally flip the seat blue.

Lassiter is a bold progressive leader who is working to end Trump's influence in Washington and deliver racial justice, climate action, and quality public education for her constituents. She's the kind of leader we need in Washington, but this is crunch time, and the only way Lassiter can win is if she gets grassroots support from Democrats like you to turn out the vote.

John, Republicans are doing everything they can to protect this red seat because, if they succeed, they'll only need 4 seats to take back the House next year. Please, will you contribute anything you can now to support Shawn Lassiter's campaign and help us expand our razor-thin House majority with bold women leaders championing progress? >> [link removed]

Thank you for helping us defend a progressive agenda in Washington and supporting progressive women like Lassiter who are again making people the focus of policy making.
