I'm a Democrat, a Black woman, a mother, a public defender, and now, a candidate for Governor in Virginia.

A Black woman has never served as Governor anywhere in the country.

John, I’m running for Governor because I’ve seen what the status quo gives working families: scraps and empty promises.

From families struggling to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table, to Black Americans fearing for their safety in their own communities -- it’s time for someone to address the systemic problems we’re facing head on.

Together, we can advocate for the most vulnerable in our society. We can weather Republican attacks and come out stronger on the other side.
