Last night Justin Trudeau took the stage in Montreal for the TVA Leaders’ debate, and he was the clear winner coming out of it!
He stood up for middle class families, for a woman’s right to choose, for real action to fight climate change, and so much more.
The online buzz was incredibly positive: @JustinTrudeau was mentioned over 11,000 times on Twitter – more than all the other leaders combined!

Earlier this week, Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team released the 2019 Liberal platform – Forward: A Real Plan for the Middle Class.
While Andrew Scheer and his Conservatives want to take us backwards to the politics of the Harper years, we’re focused on moving forward with our plan to invest in the middle class, grow our economy, protect a clean environment, and keep our communities safe.
Our Top Priorities

The Liberal team is focused on making life more affordable for you and your family.
We’ll make it easier for young Canadians to buy their first home, save the average family nearly $600 per year by cutting taxes for the middle class, and ensure a more secure retirement for seniors.

Climate change is the biggest issue of our generation, and the Liberal team has a real plan to protect our environment while growing our economy.
We’ll invest in clean technologies, protect our land, coast and oceans, and commit Canada to net-zero emissions by 2050.

Gun crime in Canada is on the rise, and today, our country has no clear classification for assault rifles – making it legal to buy several military-style weapons.
Andrew Scheer’s Conservatives have an agenda that will make it easier for criminals to get their hands on assault rifles. That’s wrong. A re-elected Liberal government will strengthen gun control, and ban assault weapons in Canada.

More Help for College & University Students
Post-secondary education provides the skills and training to find good jobs, but with the cost of tuition rising rapidly, too many young Canadians are finding it harder and harder to afford.
A re-elected Liberal government will make student grants more generous and student loans more affordable. By increasing Canada Student Grants, students will receive up to $1,200 more every year. We’ll give new graduates two years before they need to begin paying off their loans – interest-free – and they won’t have to start paying it back until they’re making at least $35,000. We’ll also help new parents by allowing them to pause their loan repayments – with no interest – until their youngest child turns 5, so they can focus on raising their family, rather than their debt.
In the words of one expert, this student aid plan is "frankly, pretty spectacular" and would give Canada "the world's most equitable and efficient student aid system". (Alex Usher, Higher Education Strategy Associates, Oct 2, 2019)
