Hello,

Yesterday evening, Derek Chauvin was convicted of the murder of George Floyd.

We're grateful that the officers involved were held accountable, but this is not justice in America. Only 5 officers have been found guilty of murder in cases of on-duty shootings since 2005, yet hundreds more Black men and women have died at the hands of law enforcement. Derek Chauvin will be held accountable for George Floyd's murder, but we must continue to put in the work and hold law enforcement accountable for the repeated killings of Black men, women, and children.

George Floyd's death sparked a fresh reckoning with racial injustice in our country, and the work of that reckoning is nowhere near over. At Progressive Majority, we will continue to fight for progress in Congress and at the ballot box.
