The 2022 midterms are about a year and a half away, but that's not slowing down Republicans. New spending makes it clear: The GOP is testing out their 2022 playbook in state elections happening this year.

The Republican State Leadership Committee just launched a SERIOUS ad buy in New Jersey and Virginia, both of which have statewide elections this November. And what do they think their winning message is? Stoking fears about “cancel culture.”

The Republican Party agenda does nothing to create good paying jobs, to rebuild our country after COVID-19, or to protect against the growing climate crisis. That's why they're focusing on scare tactics and issues with no substance, like cancel culture. It reeks of desperation.

But, that doesn't mean the strategy won't work, especially with their Fox News propaganda machine running full force. We need to be ready to counter their messaging in 2021 AND 2022, and that means rebuilding our 2020 grassroots network right now -- before it's too late.

The far-right will use every tool at their disposal to spread lies and disinformation. Fox News, Info Wars, Facebook, and more will amplify these ads to millions of people. Democrats have truth on our side, but we also need the resources to fight back.
