and what that means for the Indiana Legislature

Fellow Young Democrat,

Tonight only happens once every two years in Indiana, and we are so excited that we will all be together to talk about this important day in the Indiana legislature, what it means for the state, and how Young Democrats can take action afterwards.

As we
look ahead towards what happens next, we hope you'll join us for our Monthly Meeting TONIGHT at 6 pm ([link removed]) . Click below to receive the Zoom link for this meeting and all of our meetings through this June, we really hope you'll join us for a fun night celebrating the end of the legislative session and enjoying the company of fellow Young Dems!

Monthly Executive Committee Meetings ([link removed]) are set through this June! Meetings are held every 3rd Wednesday of the month (pro-tip: that's today!). Tonight, we're talking about the end of Indiana's legislative session, known as "sine die", where all bills must finalize passing both legislators, otherwise they must be re-filed again next year.

We'll discuss Earth Day and some of the many options we have to take care of our communities. We will also share a call-to-action to protect Indiana's wetlands, 98% of which are set for deregulation if a
Governor Holcomb signs a bill.

We'll be joined by two lobbyists who can give good insight into this legislative session and how Young Democrats can move forward after session is over. Lindsay Shipps is a Principal Strategist at Onward & Upward Strategies and Elise Shrock is a Vice President at Tamm Capital. See you there tonight!!

Next Wednesday, we'll be joining with a number of other progressive groups for a Meet the Chair event with the new Indiana Democratic Party Chair, Mike Schmuhl, and the new Indiana Democratic Party Vice Chair, Myla Eldridge! The event will be an opportunity for Hoosier Democrats to learn about the candidates' visions for the future and share their own thoughts with the new leadership. After re-organization happened last month and we have new leadership for the next four years, now it's time to get to work!
