This weekend, an active shooter killed three people and injured three others in Austin, TX. On Monday, three people were killed in Kenosha, WI. And yesterday, one person was killed and two were injured in West Hempstead, NY.

It seems as if every day, we are getting breaking national news about gun violence. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Countless tragedies don’t make the headlines, but their impact on families and communities is just as tragic.

Gun violence is preventable. No single policy can stop every shooting, but we know there are concrete solutions proven to save lives. So, we need to ask:

Can you make a $5 donation to Giffords PAC? We’ll take that contribution and put it right to work passing the lifesaving background checks legislation that is waiting in the Senate.

There doesn’t have to be another day when we receive breaking news alerts about shootings. There doesn’t have to be another day when families get the dreaded call that their loved one was a victim of gun violence.

And if we continue to work together, there doesn’t have to be another day where we say background checks have not been signed into law.
