For the first time in over a decade, our country has a real chance to protect LGBTQ Americans, and expand civil rights for everyone, by passing the Equality Act. The Equality Act passed the House and has the full support of President Biden. The last hurdle: the Senate.

Right this moment, your voice is important. Your Senator needs to hear from you about why this bill is so critical. The Equality Act would update our non-discrimination laws to ensure that all Americans, including LGBTQ Americans, can provide for themselves and their families, meet their obligations, live free from discrimination, and build a better life.

Support is growing, so tell your Senator thank you if they are already a co-sponsor of the Equality Act. But we aren't there yet, so let them all know why they should be if they're not!

The Equality Act would meaningfully expand civil rights protections for many Americans and advance equal treatment for LGBTQ people, women, people of faith, and people of color.

A survey from the Center for American Progress found that 1 in 3 LGBTQ Americans, including 3 in 5 transgender Americans, experienced discrimination in just the past year. It’s past time for comprehensive protections. It’s time for Congress to pass the Equality Act
