State of the Air 2021
State of the Air
2021 is Out Now
The American Lung Association's annual report on air quality across the country is now available. While there has been some progress on cleaning up air pollution, there is still much more to do. Today, more than 40% of Americans are impacted by unhealthy air. Read the report and find out how your city compares.
   Is Your Air Clean?

Key Findings from
the Report
41% of Americans live in counties that have an unhealthy level of air pollution.
People of color are 61% more likely to breathe polluted air compared to white people.
Living in areas with elevated levels of air pollution is linked to worse health outcomes from COVID-19.
The threat from deadly particle pollution continues to increase every year.

Let's Take Action
Promoting environmental justice and health equity is a central tenet of our mission. Today, too many people - especially people of color - are breathing unhealthy air. Join us in calling on President Biden to prioritize these communities when it comes to pollution cleanup and investment in clean, renewable energy.
