George Floyd should be alive.
John, George Floyd should be alive.

No jury’s decision will ever return him to his family as a father, brother, or son, nor as the friend that he was to so many.

While accountability is necessary, we must recognize that this one decision will not end the systemic racism that is at the foundation of our institutions.

For too long, Black, Brown, Indigenous, Asian, and all people of color -- people who built this country -- have been under attack.

Last summer, millions of people across the globe were inspired to call for change following Mr. Floyd’s death, and the recent killing of Daunte Wright just miles away from Minneapolis in Brooklyn Center is yet another reminder that our call to create a more just nation must go beyond accountability in any individual trial.

We, as Democrats, as Americans, must stand against the white supremacy at the root of our nation -- and the police violence that stems directly from it.

White supremacy is deadly. We have all seen it time and again with George Floyd, with Adam Toledo, with Daunte Wright, with Breonna Taylor, with Tony McDade, and with so many others -- including the Atlanta shooting victims: Delaina Ashley Yaun, Xiaojie Tan, Daoyou Feng, Soon Chung Park, Hyun Jung Grant, Suncha Kim, and Yong Ae Yue.

We must act now to live up to America’s promise and achieve true justice.

We can’t help but notice the bitter irony that not quite a year ago, we reached out about organizations fighting for change on the front lines. So here -- again -- are organizations on the front lines that are making a difference:

Black Lives Matter Global Network
Reclaim the Block
Black Visions Collective
NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund
Color of Change Education Fund
Campaign Zero
The Marshall Project
Asian Americans Advancing Justice
Stop AAPI Hate
The Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund
Asian American Advocacy Fund

We cannot afford to look away and ignore what is happening around us -- because this moment demands our attention.

We as Americans must stand beside those who have suffered the most under the systematic racism of this country.

We must prove that despite adversity, we will always be there for one another.

And we must always continue to fight for a better America.

Thank you for joining us,

We’re working hard to make sure we protect our Democratic Majority -- and to put an end to Republicans' obstruction for good. President Biden can't do it all. We need all hands on deck if we’re going to fight back against Republicans and expand our historic Majority. Our success relies on grassroots supporters like you. 99% of our contributions come from grassroots donations, with an average gift of $19. If you'd like to unsubscribe from DCCC emails, click here.
