I’m grateful that justice was served for George Floyd's family and his loved ones. Unfortunately, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and so many others still await their justice.

Today's verdict was a small, positive first step, but there is so much more systemic change needed before we can fully create trust between African Americans and our criminal justice system.

Now we must fully commit to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. There must be accountability for everyone. The Senate must act immediately.
