Villarruel to Head National Culture of Health Advisory Group
The National Academy of Medicine has named Antonia Villarruel, PhD, RN, FAAN, to steer its Culture of Health Program Advisory Committee through 2023. Villarruel, the dean of nursing at UPenn, will chair the committee that guides the program&rsquo;s efforts to further health equity. Villarruel also co-chairs the Campaign&rsquo;s Strategic Advisory Committee.

Playbook, the Complex Care Online Resource, Names New Advisers
Diana Mason, PhD, RN, FAAN, is among 17 new members of the advisory board of the Better Care Playbook, the resource center that serves as a repository of the best in evidence-based practices to improve care for people with complex needs. Mason, an adviser to the Campaign, is senior policy service professor at the George Washington University School of Nursing.

Future of Nursing 2020-2030 Report Goes Public on May 11
On Tuesday, May 11, the National Academy of Medicine will release its long-awaited Future of Nursing 2020-2030 report at 11 a.m. ET, followed by a webinar at 3 to review the findings. Originally due out in 2020, the Future of Nursing: Charting a Path to Achieve Health Equity was delayed as the NAM expanded the report to include information about the pandemic and recommendations on how nurses can reduce health disparities.

All 2021 Health Equity Forums Focused on Nursing Now Online
Since the start of the year, the Campaign has brought together leaders from business, government, consumer organizations and more to discuss how nursing is and can be a path to increased health equity. Now the three Health Equity Action Forums&mdash;on diversifying the workforce; nursing in the community; and nurses and financial stability&mdash;are online.

Wisconsin &ldquo;Icon&rdquo; Nichols Leads &ldquo;Respond Now&rdquo; Nurse Program
The latest issue of UMOJA, the oldest African American-owned magazine in Wisconsin, features both &ldquo;Madison icon&rdquo; Barbara Nichols, MS, RN, FAAN, and an initiative funded by the Campaign&rsquo;s Nursing Innovations Fund. Reports UMOJA: &ldquo;Wisconsin Center for Nursing Executive Director Barbara L. Nichols is the brains behind the urgent educational training project&rdquo; that focuses on vulnerable populations.

New - Complex Care Center Seeks Six Regional Hosts
The National Center for Complex Health and Social Needs seeks, and will fund, six organizations to each host a regional event that focuses on ideas and initiatives that create and support person-centered, integrated systems of care. Selected organizations will receive $5,000, and subject matter and logistical support. Deadline to apply: May 19.
