Americans love to make jokes about Florida. And while it would be easier to brush off what the state legislature is doing to voting rights, Floridians don't deserve the disastrous bills Republicans are pushing.

Over the last few days, Ron DeSantis signed an “anti-rioting” bill that gives civil immunity to people that run over protests.

The state legislature is also moving forward with a discriminatory voting suppression bill that would ban giving water to voters in line, restricts voting by mail, and institutes an outdated signature match system.

Floridians deserve better.
