Lois’ Original Message:

The new Congress has officially been in office for more than 100 days. In that time, my Democratic colleagues and I have stepped up to pass legislation that will be meaningful to you — from COVID-19 relief, to protecting voting rights, gun safety, and more.

Next, we’re focusing on our new infrastructure bill — the American Jobs Plan, an opportunity to bring America into the future.

Not only will it modernize our roads and bridges, it will create millions of good-paying union jobs as well as replace every lead water pipe in the country, build up our electric vehicle market to fight climate change, give rural communities 21st century broadband, create affordable housing, improve home and child care, and more!

I want to hear from my supporters like you today to learn what you think about this landmark infrastructure bill. Will you share your thoughts here? [[link removed]]

This historic package focuses on modernizing our country in the face of the climate crisis and will do so in an equitable way. It is what we need for the U.S. to remain competitive on the world stage and rebuild our economy so it is better than before. Personally, I pushed for it to include social infrastructure as well: improving the care economy by adding access to home and child care.

I look forward to working with President Joe Biden to get the American Jobs Plan into law. Tell me what you think so I can strongly advocate for its passage:
