I just introduced the Judiciary Act of 2021 with Senator Ed Markey, House
Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, and House Courts Subcommittee
Chairman Hank Johnson.
This bill would add 4 seats to the Supreme Court, immediately reversing
the Republicans’ theft of the Court by expanding it from 9 Justices to 13.

After President Trump was elected, Republicans wasted no time packing
federal courts with extreme, far-right judges. After Justice Ginsburg
passed away, they rushed to confirm Amy Coney Barrett, securing a 6-3,
far-right supermajority on the Court.
The Republican's partisan power grab will rig the Court to rule in the
GOP’s favor for decades -- unless we act now.
Today’s Court has routinely sided with corporate interests and Republican
Party donors over working families, and it is completely out of touch with
the majority of Americans.
Its decisions have gutted the Voting Rights Act, invited unlimited dark
money spending in our elections, and cleared the path for the kind of
racist voter purges that stole the election from Stacey Abrams in Georgia.
By expanding the Court, we can stop this assault on our democracy and
restore power to the people, not special interests.
If we fail to expand the Supreme Court, we risk losing all of the progress
we’ve made in the last few decades -- and with voting rights being eroded,
we will cease to have a democracy.
[ [link removed] ]SIGN THE PETITION TODAY. For the sake of our democracy, we must expand
the Supreme Court.
I was proud to have the PCCC with me in my run for Congress in 2020.
They'll keep me up to date as this petition grows, so I can share the
support and momentum for this effort with my colleagues in Congress.
Onward,
-- Congressman Mondaire Jones, New York 17th Congressional District
