John,

Today, we’re launching a hilarious new “Save the Gerrymanderers” PSA with actor Ed Helms — check it out here, and then share it with anyone you know who could use a laugh. (And if you think you don’t need a laugh break, please respond and tell us your secrets to surviving the last year without humor.)

Save the Gerrymanderers | Watch Now

Here’s the problem: Politicians in power are relying on the fact that gerrymandering isn't widely understood by voters so they can get away with rigging voting districts again this year — and silencing voters for the next decade.

So what do we do? Make sure people know about this threat by making gerrymandering more funny, shareable, and accessible to the regular voter. These short videos quickly go viral, getting this vital information in front of millions of people. Information is power. Funny, shareable videos delivering that information can be even more powerful.

Watch Ed’s new video here, and then share it with your circles on social media or email to show your friends: Voters aren’t letting politicians hide their slimy gerrymandering tactics behind legalese or wonky wording.

We’re calling out the threat of gerrymandering and building momentum to end it by passing the For the People Act. This year, politicians will redraw our voting districts, and if we don’t pass the Act, lawmakers in both parties will be able to rig our elections for the next decade — and 188 million Americans face extreme gerrymandering risks.

This video is funny, but gerrymandering is serious. We only have a few months to stop ten years of broken elections. By sharing this video as far and wide as you can, you’ll reach a whole new audience of Americans passionate about unrigging our system and ready to join the fight.

The future of democracy rests on what we do now. But the anti-corruption movement has proven that we have the passion, dedication, and power to fix our political system.
