John, We are mourning the loss of Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old and father to a 1-year-old son, and Adam Toledo, a 13-year-old child -- who lost their lives at the hands of the police. This sadness and grief are all too familiar to our country and the Black community. We must fight for justice, and we cannot stop until Black Lives Matter in the eyes of the law. Long-term, sustainable, and systemic change can happen when we demand it in protest, at the polls, and of our representatives. We want to take some time to talk about one way we can take action to make change today: Call your senators and urge them to support the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, a vital step towards meaningful criminal justice reform. You can click here to call them now -- then, read our guide that breaks down the bill. What is the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act? What would the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act do?
Have there been other bills introduced or laws implemented like this one before? What can I do to help? Try to call on a business day during standard business hours, 9 AM-5 PM ET. But if you’re calling at night or on a weekend, leave a voicemail and your message will still get to your senator. We know that even after this bill is passed, we will still need to work to end systemic racism and police brutality. The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act is a critical first step. Together, we can work to make our country one in which everyone feels safe and can make their voice heard. Thanks for being a part of our team. When We All Vote
