But first, we want to share with you some exciting Morningside news: We've added two amazing new members to our Board. Welcome, Gisela Alvarez and Miyoko Brunner! Gisela Alvarez led the Donors’ Education Collaborative at The New York Community Trust, where she worked to improve New York City's public schools through system-wide policy reform. Miyoko Brunner is Interim Development Director at City University of New York School of Law, where she manages fundraising in support of student opportunities, clinical programs, and special initiatives. Looking for the Good during Challenging Times During the past weeks and months, our nation has witnessed an onslaught of upsetting and, at times, triggering events. In this lesson students practice identifying and using stress management strategies to better cope with upsetting news. Anti-Asian Racism in History & in Our Lives In this activity, students hear the story of one Asian American family, consider some key dates in the history of racism against Asian Americans, and learn about and discuss their own family history.
