Dear John,

With the generous support of donors like you, we’ve been able to raise over a million of our $1.2 million dollar goal!

But we’re not there yet—we need your help! The children and families we serve have been hit disproportionally hard by the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our goal is ambitious because there are so many children and families across the country who are in urgent need of early learning and care resources to prevent further learning loss due to the pandemic.

This past year has put a spotlight on the inequities faced by people of color in our country. Not only have our families had to endure the hardships of the pandemic, but so many also face the burdens of racial injustice that have been ever present in our society.

Diversity, equity and inclusion are pillars of our work and we strive to incorporate inclusion and anti-bias understanding into our curriculum for infants, toddlers and their families. As a result of the pandemic, we pivoted to providing necessary services virtually to teach these critical lessons and engage our families at home.

“We encourage students to share what is distinct about their families, how they celebrate special occasions and what is important to them.”

-Danielle Jordan, teacher
We also know that it is important to support our children and families when they are dealing with external stressors like racism. We do this by providing quality care and access to mental health resources for all of our families. To do this, we need constant training and innovation for our educators so that they can provide the highest quality care to our littlest learners.

Will you help us ensure that our youngest learners are ready to succeed?

It’s not too late to join us on April 22 to hear from our Master Teacher Danielle Jordan on how bringing diversity, equity and inclusion into the classroom helped her students develop confidence in their social and personal identities. Danielle will be joined by an inspiring line up of speakers who will all help demonstrate the lasting impact that early learning can have on molding the future of our youngest children.
