It’s 2021. It’s time to end federal marijuana prohibition. That’s why I’m planning to bring cannabis legislation to the Senate floor soon.

Legalizing marijuana would allow us to reinvest tax revenue into communities most impacted by the failed war on drugs and fund efforts to expunge prior marijuana convictions -- and bring us one step closer to racial equity.

That’s why it is a top priority for the Democratic Senate this year.

So I’m bringing marijuana legislation to the Senate floor and I need to know supporters like you are behind me. Will you add your name to demand federal marijuana legalization?

In New York, we just legalized marijuana. And now, over 40% of Americans live in states like New York where marijuana is legalized. It’s overwhelmingly clear that this is what the future will look like. Add that on top of the fact that two-thirds of Americans favor marijuana legalization, and it makes political and financial sense to get this done.

There aren’t downsides. States bring in more revenue and limit some of the most racist abuses of our legal and police system.
