John,
Over the weekend, uber-liberal Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters flew into our state from California and decided to tell those gathered in Minneapolis that they need to “get more confrontational” if Derek Chauvin is acquitted in George Floyd's murder trial.
I want to be perfectly clear. In no circumstance is this type of rhetoric ever acceptable from anyone. And to have a sitting Congressperson fly into another state and champion this kind of inflammatory speech is almost unheard of.
Action must be taken.
That’s why I’ve joined with my Minnesota Republican colleagues to call for the censure of Congresswoman Waters, an investigation as to whether taxpayer funds were used for her travel to spread this hateful ideology, and to publicly condemn her actions.
During this time of unrest in our state – and in America – we cannot condone nor allow an elected official to act in this manner unchecked.
Thank you for your time and support. The eyes of the nation truly are on Minnesota.
