Dear John,

$30. Then $1,500.

That’s what TakeAction leader Kate has been forced to pay to keep an EpiPen in her pocket in case of a severe allergic reaction.

EpiPens cost about $3 to make, and the active ingredient costs only 72 cents. The price hike showed Kate that “apparently, Big Pharma wasn’t profiting enough,” she writes on our blog.

Right now, we have the power to #ChangeTheRules and make sure our lives come before Big Pharma’s profits. TODAY, the Minnesota House will vote on the Commerce omnibus bill. It includes a measure that creates a Prescription Drug Affordability Board to review high-cost drugs and set limits on what Minnesotans pay at the pharmacy.

This is urgent. Email your legislators right now. Tell them to vote YES and pass a Prescription Drug Affordability Board in the Commerce bill. Customize your message for maximum impact.

Kate says that our stories are “imperative for the government to hear” because “we need to know someone is listening to us, understanding us, and ensuring that no one suffers in vain for a faceless company’s profits” – and she’s right.

Send a message to your legislators now. Tell them to pass the Prescription Drug Affordability Board bill and make sure that no Minnesotan is forced to ration our medicine so we can pay the rent or buy groceries. Add your story for the greatest impact.

Change is happening because people like Kate, Travis, Ramae, Phil, Molly, and many, many others continue to speak up.
