Hi John,

Over recent years, Greenpeace supporters have worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the plastics crisis and have demanded action from those responsible for tackling it.

A staggering 2.3 million people signed our petition calling on UK supermarkets to ditch single-use packaging. And it's working. Supermarkets are starting to accept their responsibility, most recently Sainsbury's has pledged to reduce their plastic consumption 50% by 2025. [1]

But there’s still so much to do.

We’d love to get your views on the next stage of our campaign, where we'll be looking to the UK government to also take responsibility for tackling plastic waste.

Can you help us make sure our campaign really hits home by answering a few quick questions?

One thing is clear: big supermarkets like Tesco and Asda need to drastically reduce the amount of plastic packaging on their products. The truth is that the UK government is dumping our plastic recycling abroad, where it’s being dumped and burned in the open air.

That's why we need the government to stop exporting our waste, and come up with a proper plan to deal with the plastic crisis.

We know that this campaign is making a big ask. But we also know that when people come together and use their collective power, huge changes are possible.

Can you make sure our campaign has the biggest impact possible by filling in this quick survey?

With so much at stake, we need to make sure we get it right.

Every single day, thousands of Greenpeace supporters take action to protect the planet. Being part of a huge, global movement of people who care passionately about our world is something I feel proud of - and I hope that you do too.

Thanks for all that you do,

Anthony and the plastics team
