Debunking the Left’s Big Lie on Election Integrity <[link removed]> – HR 1 would essentially end voter ID laws nationwide. Voter ID requirements are wildly popular, and supported across demographic groups, including black Americans. Abiding popularity aside, forcibly replacing voter ID requirements with a mere declaration of identity would destroy all trust in our electoral process. HR 1 also imposes ballot harvesting nationwide. Ballot harvesting is the collection and delivery of batches of ballots, usually by partisan political operatives. It also commands states to enact automatic voter registration, which will place ineligible voters, including illegal aliens, on the rolls, despite what the “fact checkers” at The Washington Post tell you. The bill also restricts states’ efforts to maintain accurate voter rolls. If you’re wondering how those provisions make our elections stronger and more secure, you’re not alone. Yet, our media continue to refer to HR 1 as an “election reform bill” or with other, similar euphemistic verbiage. Heritage expert: Hans von Spakovsky <[link removed]>
4 Myths About the Election Integrity Law in Georgia <[link removed]> – The Heritage Foundation released a fact check Friday of some of the most egregious lies being echoed by members of Congress, the media, Hollywood, and corporate America about the new
election integrity reform in Georgia. These reforms are about one thing—making it easier for American citizens to vote, while making it harder to cheat. Heritage expert: Mike Howell <[link removed]>
Corporate Activism Is Helping Undermine Confidence In Our Elections <[link removed]> – Amid this political conversation, it’s understandable that companies would face pressure
from often misinformed employees and advocacy organizations. Many on the left now say that business has a responsibility to engage in partisan political activities and take sides, using their economic power to achieve what activists have failed to do through democratic processes. This is a mistake: Companies should focus on their business and their customers, who are not divided by politics and partisan
considerations. But even if they do act, their engagement at least should be rooted in facts, not falsehoods. To use their brands and market power to thwart the will of the elected representatives of their customers is unethical and undemocratic. Heritage expert: Andy Olivastro <[link removed]>
These 107 Corporations Signal Opposition to Election Integrity <[link removed]> – A list of more than 100 corporate signatories that appeared in the ad can be found at the bottom of this article. It includes Apple, the Ford Motor Co., PayPal, Google, Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Under Armor, Sweetgreen, and American Express, among many others. So, unless you don’t use the internet, drive a car, use large banking institutions, wear clothes, eat food you didn’t grow yourself, or pretty much function at all in modern life, you are almost
certain to find companies you interact with on the list. And, of course, The New York Times did its best to shame the companies that didn’t sign the statement. Heritage expert: Jarrett Stepman <[link removed]>
The Death of Law and Order Is Destroying America <[link removed]> – The left’s treatment of these continued riots and attacks stand in stark contrast to their treatment of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. To be clear, those who broke the law in that attack should be held accountable for their actions and prosecuted—just as those who are now breaking the law should be held accountable and prosecuted. Law and order benefits all parts of society. The security that stems from law and order is the foundation for economic opportunity. If President Biden and Vice President Harris truly want peaceful and thriving communities, they need to stand up to the leftist mob, return to supporting law enforcement, publicly condemn all violence, and encourage prosecutors to punish such violence no matter who the perpetrator happens to be. Senate Democrats Are Padding The Filibuster Numbers To Lie About Why They Want To Kill It <[link removed]> – The party in the Senate minority typically likes the filibuster. Indeed, both parties have used it to their advantage on legislative matters covering numerous issues. Similarly, the majority resents the filibuster and often complains about it. Filibuster fraud occurs when the majority falsely inflates filibuster numbers to create a fake crisis. In 2013, for example, Democrats claimed that Republicans had rendered the confirmation process “unworkable” by filibustering scores of President Barack Obama’s judicial nominations. It turns out Democrats were counting cloture motions rather than filibusters. During the first five years of Obama’s administration, 63 cloture motions were filed on judicial nominations; the Senate voted on 19 of them, and seven of those votes failed. Pretty slick, right? There were nine times as many cloture motions as filibusters during those five years, so Democrats just used the higher number and called those filibusters, figuring no one would be the wiser. Pharmaceutical innovation is winning the war on COVID. Biden shouldn’t stop it. <[link removed]> – Biden is happy to claim credit for the pace of immunizations. Manufacturers are distributing hundreds of millions of doses of vaccines that the Trump administration ordered. As many as four million adults are daily getting their shots at pharmacies, supermarkets, clinics and government-funded facilities. What Biden seems not to have grasped is the connection between pharmaceutical revenues and medical innovation. We have vaccines not because Biden is a great leader, but because private enterprises had sufficient resources to persevere through years of failure on the road to historic success. Biden Administration Wants Schools to Teach Prejudice. Here’s What Parents Should Know. <[link removed]> – Students should not be taught to “work before play” or “plan for the future” because these ideas represent systems of power, according to the museum. Museum officials issued an apology and removed the document in July. Meanwhile, state education officials across the country have also created content for K-12 children that treats students differently based on skin color and teaches students to be biased against others based on ethnicity. Officials from several
California school districts designed a new math curriculum that tells educators to “adapt homework policies to fit the needs of students of color” and “challenge the ways that math is used to uphold capitalist, imperialist, racist views.” California’s Department of Education created a new ethnic studies curriculum that
recommends instructional content from organizations such as Learning for Justice, a diversity training group created by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Heritage expert: Jonathan Butcher <[link removed]>
Counterpoint: To 'restore the Earth,' tap the free market <[link removed]> – Voluntary cooperation for economic and environmental good also extends beyond America’s borders. Freer trade is a critical tool that increases productivity, generates efficiencies and leads to the innovation and transfer of cleaner technologies. As emphasized by the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, “Open markets can improve access to new technologies that make local production processes more efficient by diminishing the use of inputs such as energy, water and other environmentally harmful substances.” This planet has its environmental challenges. But it is a place filled with talented innovators who want to make the world a better place. The role of public policy should be to unleash their creativity rather than stifle by closing off economic opportunity. Heritage expert: Nick Loris <[link removed]>
