In just a minute, [ [link removed] ]I’m going to ask you to share in a couple sentences
how legal weed in the
U.S. would impact your life for the better.

But first, let me introduce myself. Hi,
John! My name is Jordan Rogers, and today is my
first day on staff as our campaign’s official Cannabis Coalition Leader.

For the past few years, I’ve dedicated myself to public service in
Pennsylvania. Now, I’m stoked to be stepping into this campaign role to
build an intersectional community around all things cannabis as we work to
elect John Fetterman to the U.S. Senate in 2022.

You may be wondering: What exactly does a Cannabis Coalition Leader do? 🤔

My job is to organize cannabis communities across Pennsylvania that
include a cross section of our residents — from farmers, to folks in our
cities, to veterans and everyone in between.

Together, we're going to organize to legalize weed for medical AND
recreational use, expunge ALL marijuana records, and release ALL people
incarcerated for using the plant. We’ll confront the gross racial
injustice of marijuana prohibition. We’ll educate ourselves and dismantle
stigma.

[ [link removed] ]It’s going to be a lot of work, and we can only do it together. That’s
why I want to start off by hearing from you,
John. In a few sentences, will you share how
legal weed in the
U.S. would impact your life?

Since I’m asking you to share,
John, I’ll share some more about me! I’m from
Philadelphia, where I learned to give back to my community. My father
passed away when I was four years old, so my mom raised me and my brother
on her own. Through it all, we could always count on the support of our
community and our neighbors, and I will never forget that.

When I was a teenager and President Barack Obama was elected in 2008, I
knew then that I wanted to go into government. Someone who looked like ME
was the most powerful person in the world! I started to see government as
the ultimate way of giving back to the community.

As I got older, I channeled this passion into public policy. In undergrad,
I found my niche in urban politics. In particular, I became fascinated
with marijuana policy. This culminated in my graduate school thesis
titled, “Social Justice & Cannabis Reform: Balancing the Scales of
Criminal Justice.”

John, I know most Senate
campaigns don’t hire a Cannabis Coalition Leader. Hell, most Senate
candidates don't even make legal weed a central part of their campaign
platform!

But John Fetterman isn’t your typical Senate candidate, and that's why I'm
on board. He understands that legal weed means more revenue, jobs, and
freedom. He sees how it will benefit our farmers, veterans, and small
businesses. After all, legal weed is a bipartisan issue that’s supported
by 70% percent of Americans.

Most importantly, John recognizes that marijuana prohibition is racial
injustice. Black people are arrested for violating marijuana possession
laws at nearly four times the rates of white people. John’s record
fighting for sentence clemency and to expunge records for those
incarcerated on absurd drug charges is exactly what we need in our next
U.S. Senator.

I can’t wait to get our Cannabis Coalition going. [ [link removed] ]So, can you please do
me a favor on my first official day on the job and share how legal
weed in the
U.S. would impact your life for the better?

John, I can’t wait to get to
business legalizing freedom and liberating those on bogus charges. And
with your help, I am looking forward to building a strong and broad
coalition across Pennsylvania!

More soon,

Jordan
