Friend,
In 2019, women made 82% of what their male colleagues earned for the same job. It's long past time that we eliminate the wage gap that hurts women and their families across our country -- and disproportionately impacts women of color.
That's why last week, Jennifer was proud to vote to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act in the House. This bill increases penalties for wage discrimination, bans contracts that prohibit employees from discussing their salaries, and protects workers from retaliation for filing discrimination complaints.
The Paycheck Fairness Act will help eradicate the wage gap and create a more equitable American workplace, and we need to give it the momentum it needs to become law.
We have no room for error in a 50-50 Senate, and special interests are going to be lobbying hard to stop us. So we need to create an undeniable groundswell of support for wage equality.
Will you add your name to tell the Senate to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act? If we can get 10,000 signatures by Wednesday, we'll have sent a powerful message.
Thank you,
Team Wexton
