Guess who's back to stop HR 1 -- the For the People Act?
We just got word that Mitch McConnell's office held a private conference call with the Koch brothers' dark money network. Top of the agenda? How to defeat HR 1 -- the most important piece of pro-democracy legislation we've seen in decades.
The audio of the call was leaked, and one thing is crystal clear: They're terrified that HR 1 will stop billionaires like them from buying our elections -- which is exactly what we're trying to do, John.
Here's the situation: If we're going to get HR 1 passed, we can't lose any ground in the House and Senate to the Koch brothers' network. The bad news is our prospects are looking grim headed into the midterm election. It's traditionally tough for the party in power (that's us).
