Folks -- let me be very clear; President Biden must give significant consideration to cybersecurity as part of the American Jobs plan.

As Chair of the House Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Innovation, I am uniquely familiar with the urgent need to raise our national cybersecurity posture -- across Federal networks, State and local governments.

For the last four years, we’ve suffered from a lack of steady, consistent leadership from the White House, leaving agencies to pursue piecemeal approaches to cybersecurity. I commend the Biden-Harris Administration for recognizing the need for quick investment to modernize and secure Federal networks, and I am committed to doing everything in my power to ensure that funding is enacted.

The American Jobs plan is expansive and provides necessary updates to our infrastructure needed to remain competitive globally. However, to keep Americans safe while leading the world in technological achievements and advancements, we must prioritize cybersecurity, including targeted support for State and local broadband access.
