Last week President Biden announced that he would keep Trump’s record low
cap on the number of refugees that could enter the United States — even
after promising he’d raise the number to more than 60,000.

Pramila spoke out right away, urging the President to keep his promise and
welcome refugees into our country. Later that day, the Biden
administration announced it would reverse course and keep its promise to
raise Trump’s cruel, xenophobic, and racist cap after all.

President Biden still needs to sign an executive measure to increase the
cap, so we need everyone to do their part to ensure he follows through.

ending Donald Trump’s cruel policies.

Keeping Trump’s refugee cap would leave thousands of people who are
already vetted by the U.S. stranded in camps across the world. Refugees
are seeking safety in America, escaping a wide range of humanitarian
concerns that are plaguing their current homes.

That’s why Pramila is fighting for more humane policies — and her efforts
are working. After she and other Democrats expressed their outrage at
President Biden’s decision, the White House changed its course. Now
Pramila is going to make sure they follow through.
