Hi John,
Tucker Carlson recently claimed on Fox News that “the Democratic Party is trying to replace the current electorate of the voters now casting ballots with new people, more obedient voters from the Third World.”
Rhetoric like this, broadcast to millions of people, feeds into xenophobia and white supremacy. By telling Republicans that their voices are being drowned out by nonwhite voters, Carlson is fanning the flames of hate -- and the AAPI community has seen firsthand how that hate leads to violence.
He even had the audacity to claim this is a “voting rights issue,” when we know the real violations of voting rights happen when states like Georgia enact barriers to block voters of color.
Luckily, we have exactly what it takes to show Tucker Carlson that we won't let conservative xenophobia block our democracy. We're devoted to electing AAPI public officials and building a government that looks more like the people it serves -- but we're running low on the funds we need to endorse candidates and mobilize voters for 2022.
