Hi ,

Like many of you, I was surprised to learn of Representative Steve Stivers’s decision and announcement this morning to step down from Congress, but I wish him well in his new position. My hope is that this presents an opportunity for our district to be represented by someone who will take a more progressive approach to policymaking and be a strong voice for hardworking Ohioans across our region. I also appreciate those of you who have reached out and inquired about my interest in running for the 15th Congressional District.

Like every major decision in my life, my decision to be a candidate in this race will be guided by my heart and informed by my brain. I need to consult with my family and decide if a Congressional race makes sense for us.

I also need to listen to the community and determine if there is a desire for me to represent them in Washington, and I need to thoughtfully consider if I can make the most impact in Congress or in the Statehouse.

As some of my strongest supporters, you will be the first to know if I decide to run for this open seat. Either way, I am confident the Democratic Party will field a strong candidate who will win this race.
