Support

PFLAG support through Facebook groups

Did you know that many of our chapters not only have public Facebook pages, but also closed or private groups? These groups are another great way to connect with local chapters for timely support, information about your local community relevant to PFLAG's mission, and more.

Three Steps to Being a Better Digital Advocate (While You’re Stuck at Home)

With all of its pros and cons, technology is one of the most important aspects of modern life, especially when we’re all still spending our time at home. Here are a few ways that you can use technology to be a better LGBTQ+ advocate alongside PFLAG National.

  1. Learn: Follow PFLAG National on social media to stay on top of the news and be ready for action. You can find us on Facebook, Twitter, InstagramLinkedIn, and TikTok. You can also follow the Straight for Equality program on Facebook and Twitter.
  2. Watch: Stream LGBTQ+ inclusive shows, movies, and podcasts. By giving your time and attention to LGBTQ+ inclusive work, you are reminding content creators that LGBTQ+ people and stories matter. Then be sure to share the ones that made an impact on you with others, especially ones elevate LGBTQ+ creators.
  3. Share: Post information about LGBTQ+ news and policies on social media. You can also direct folks to accurate, helpful information so that they can meet unfounded fears with facts. Learning is vital to be up-to-date and understanding, and you have the power to educate your friends, loved ones, and followers. Start by attending our monthly PFLAG Academy Online sessions, and bookmark some favorite trusted new sites for daily updates!

Protect Trans Kids

Advocacy

Take Action: Anti-Trans State Legislation

Trans kids are being bullied by lawmakers. That’s the easiest way to put it. Instead of working to end the pandemic, state legislators in dozens of states want to waste time and tax dollars by dehumanizing our kids. As PFLAGers, we won't abide it; we will always defend trans kids’ rights to safe and affirming
medical care, to have their legal documents reflect who they are, and to
participate in sports authentically.

Please take action to protect trans kids in your state by contacting legislators and raising your PFLAG voice.

Something to Talk About...Live!

We'll be joined by special guests, including Glen Hooks, Director of the Arkansas Sierra Club

You can watch live on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, or LinkedIn
