People for the American Way

PFAW Member,

Ever since the explosive allegations against Trump's attempt to coerce the Ukrainian government into investigating former Vice President Joe Biden, Trump and his Republican enablers have launched a crusade to find out the identity of the whistleblower. Thankfully, the identity of the whistleblower is protected by federal law, but that hasn't stopped Trump from trying to undermine the whistleblower and the report at every opportunity.

Sign the petition today and urge Congress to protect the whistleblower's identity!>>

Whistleblowers take on great personal risk to expose wrongdoing by the powerful. They’re the only reason countless presidential scandals have made it into public view. That’s why we have legal protections for whistleblowers -- which must be followed. It’s vitally important that we speak up for the protections that allow important information to see the light of day.

But Trump's crusade to uncover the identity of the whistleblower is a real and growing threat -- not only to the individual who filed the complaint about his actions with Ukraine, but a threat to the protection of future whistleblowers. Trump even took to his favorite platform to voice his outrage over the law's protection of the whistleblower's identity -- even going so far as to accuse the person of spying!

Trump tweet against whistleblower

That’s why Congress must immediately take action to protect this national security official who was so concerned about Trump’s actions that they decided to come forward -- add your name today>>

Congress should use the impeachment inquiry to get to the bottom of the issues raised in the whistleblower’s complaint so we know what Trump said, who he said it to, and any other details that are critical to the investigation. And, Congress should ensure that we have adequate protections that ensure government whistleblowers can’t be silenced or retaliated against for speaking the truth.

Thank you,

- Zach, PFAW
