Friend -- this is stunning.
At a time when millions of people around the world continue to speak out about the scientifically proven dangers that climate change poses to our planet, the Trump administration has found yet another way to deny established climate science.
Buried in the same report they used to justify destructive drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, the administration claimed: 'There is not a climate crisis.'
This is outrageous, backwards logic. Just last week, a new report from the world's leading climate scientists spelled out the impacts of climate change in stark detail. Climate change is already impacting 80 percent of the Earth, and we can no longer avoid rising seas that will inundate our coastal communities, or the resulting monster storms, heat waves, and lost sea ice.
Drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge will irreparably harm a delicate ecosystem AND continue to make our climate crisis worse. But the Trump administration is justifying their disastrous decisions by denying that we even have a problem to begin with!
There IS a climate crisis and we need to do something about it. Sign on if you agree that we need to stop drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge NOW!
We can still stop drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, but we don't have much time.
The Trump administration is trying to expedite lease sales by the end of the year so that a future administration can't undo the damage or permanently protect these lands.
We've beaten them before, and we can beat them again. But to do that I need to know you're raising your voice with mine.
Speak out against drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Sign the petition today.
Thank you,
Maria Cantwell
