It’s no question: The equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines is crucial to ending the pandemic. We’re excited to report that so far more than 39 million doses have reached Brazil, Ghana, Nepal and more than 70 other countries around the world as part of the global COVAX initiative, where UNICEF is the key procurement and supply partner.

Child marriages are illegal in Zimbabwe, yet the practice continues and has only worsened during the pandemic due to school closures and increased poverty rates. After losing many of her friends to early marriage, 17-year-old Maritsa started a foundation to support young women and raise awareness about this crisis.
