[1]Women's March

Hi, John. I'm Fatima Goss Graves,
the president and CEO of National Women's Law Center, and I'm coming to
Women's Marchers like you with a special request:

I'm asking you to join women across the country in fighting to confirm
Vanita Gupta as the next Associate Attorney General of the United States.
[ [link removed] ]We're hosting a mass organizing call tonight to let you know exactly
how to get involved, so I hope you'll RSVP to join.

Vanita Gupta is a fierce champion of civil rights, and has devoted her
career to advancing racial and social justice and equality for all. Now,
women need to have her back as she's poised to make history.

She's the daughter of Indian immigrants, would be the first woman of color
in U.S. history to serve as Associate Attorney General, and would be the
first civil rights lawyer to serve in one of the top three positions at
the DOJ. But, John, we already
know that Republicans may try to block her confirmation by smearing her
with racist and sexist attacks. It will take our entire movement of women
organizing in support of her and lobbying our senators to confirm her for
this historic role, so I hope you'll join tonight's call to hear how you
can dive into this urgent and important work to #ConfirmGupta.

[ [link removed] ]Will you join tonight's mass organizing call to learn how to organize
to confirm Vanita Gupta as our next Associate Attorney General? The call
will take place over Zoom tonight at 7 p.m. ET, so I hope I see you on the
call, John.

The truth is, there has never been a more urgent or meaningful moment for
the Senate to confirm Vanita Gupta as Associate Attorney General at the
Department of Justice. As we see rampant anti-voter legislation that
echoes the era of Jim Crow, are faced with a disturbing rise in hate
crimes, and fight a slew of other attacks on our rights and our democracy,
we need a true champion for civil rights like Vanita Gupta at the DOJ as
soon as possible.

Breaking this glass ceiling by successfully confirming Vanita Gupta to
this position at the DOJ will not be easy. But I know — and women across
this country know — that it will be worth it. That's why I'm personally
asking you to join this call with me tonight:

[ [link removed] ]Will you RSVP to our call tonight to hear exactly how Women's March,
National Women's Law Center, and our allies are organizing to
#ConfirmGupta? We can't get this done without your help.

See you tonight,

Fatima
