Dear John

The judge has just allowed Tafida to live… and to go to Italy!

Our colleague Caroline Farrow, CitizenGO campaigner for the UK, has attended the court hearing where the judge announced the decision... and gave us this marvellous news!

Human dignity has won against nihilism and the culture of death.

And it happened thanks to you, John, and thanks to the hundreds of thousands of citizengoers who participated in this campaign: signing and sharing the petition, raising awareness among their friends in social media, contributing to the legal and medical expenses of Tafida’s family and to the effort of CitizenGO to save her.

Yesterday, when we knew the Court would decide today, we organized the final vigil in London, together with Tafida’s family and friends. Today, we have followed the announcement of the decision from inside the Court... and have kept up a presence outside (see pictures below).

As the CitizenGO community, we have worked hard for Tafida. And we were able to do it because citizengoers from all over the world have joined in this campaign over the last month, with tenacity and engagement, without losing hope.

And today hope has won.

This judgement is particularly important because it  potentially impacts many hundreds of other children across the United Kingdom and across the Western world who are in a similar condition to Tafida.

Tomorrow, St. Barts Health Trust (which is runs Tafida’s Hospital) will apply for permission to appeal against the judgement, so our fight for Tafida probably is not over yet. It is hoped that their appeal will be rejected, as the judge gave very strong grounds for allowing Tafida to continue her treatment.

If necessary, we will be there, again, all together, when Tafida’s life might be in danger again. But today is the time to celebrate one more wonderful victory, in defence of the life of the innocent… and the values we cherish as members of the CitizenGO movement.

Now, please, keep on praying for Tafida, so she may continue to live and go to Italy soon to receive proper treatment.

You can see all the pictures from today clicking here.

You can also watch this video (in English) that Caroline Farrow, our UK campaigner, recorded this morning after knowing about the wonderful Court decision. She is holding some flowers that Tafida’s family gave to her today to say thank you for all the support of CitizenGO.

Many thanks again, John for being part of this important campaign. Thank you for always being there when the life of the innocent is at stake.

Cheers,

Caroline Farrow and the entire CitizenGO team

PS: We want to give you the opportunity to keep in touch with Tafida’s family, to congratulate and share your joy for little Tafida. You can write an email at [email protected]. Just click on that email address to open a new email and write to Tafida’s parents, Shelina and Mohammed. We will then deliver emails by citizengoers from all over the world to them.
