ICYMI: I joined David Asman on Fox Business to discuss Democrats’ calls for devastating defense cuts.
In response to those calls, I invited them to a classified briefing on the enormity of the threat posed by China, Russia, North Korea, Iran and others.
The consequences of these potential cuts should not be taken lightly. Historically, weakness is shown to lead to conflict. If we defund our military, then we give our geopolitical rivals an opening. If we give them an opening, they may quickly become our enemies. In today’s day and age, such conflict would be a devastating and unnecessary loss of life.
We must strive for peace, and our greatest means of securing peace is through deterrence. Our best means of deterring the threats we face is through military strength. That is why I continue advocating for a robust defense budget and strategy.
