Team: Since I was elected back in 2006, I’ve made it my mission to create more transparency and accountability in Congress. I was the first member of Congress to post my schedule, earmark requests and financial disclosures online. I authored and passed the STOCK Act, which makes it illegal for members of Congress and government officials to use insider information to make money on stocks, and required them to publicly report their financial transactions. And I don’t take a penny from corporate PACs or lobbyists. Transparency and accountability also means hearing directly from people like you and answering your questions. So today, the floor is yours—ask me anything! Submit a question here, and my team will select a few for me to answer in an upcoming email. With love and gratitude, P.S. Speaking of transparency...One New York paper went so far as to call me “Little Miss Sunshine” because of my commitment to shining a light on closed-door meetings and other shady practices in Washington. And listen—I take that as the highest compliment.
